Devlog #1: Godot and learning how to ride a bike again


The gang installs Godot 4.2

Nothing gives you more whiplash than kinda knowing what you are doing and then having to relearn that skillset in a different environment. The team mostly dealt with Unity prior to this project, so coming into  Godot & GDScript was daunting. After this session we got through the  syntax bootcamp. Indentation-based?  Fine, but we'll still put semicolons 30% of the time. Gradual Typing? So it's static AND dynamic? Sure, I guess. What the compiler does behind closed doors is their business. They are not hurting anybody.

We even had time to do basic movement!
